Whole Woman’s Health of South Bend celebrates today’s victory at the Indiana Supreme Court. The court upheld our injunction and blocked Indiana’s cruel abortion ban from going into effect. Today’s decision will bring at least temporary relief to people across the state of Indiana and the region who need abortion care and had been left by the state’s anti-abortion lawmakers with nowhere to turn. We must make it permanent.
We now know that at least until the hearing date on January 19th, 2023, abortion will be legal and available in Indiana. Our South Bend clinic is open. We are making appointments for abortion care services in October and November and will expand the schedule accordingly into the future. Our team is proud to resume this essential healthcare for people throughout Indiana, and for those across the Midwest where abortion has been banned or restricted since Roe fell in late June. Whole Woman’s Health of South Bend can add this to a long string of victories we’ve had in the courts preserving the access to essential abortion care services that all people in Indiana deserve.
